Instagram a social site that is owned by Facebook now is testing a new feature these days. This feature will able you to co-watch videos with your friends. You can also see their reactions on video via the phone cameras. It’s just like a team viewer. The twitter engineer also tweeted about this feature. He said that the users can now stare at an image together. The co-watching media picker is particularly tabs of exploring, saved and liked. For now, the option of co-watch is only available for two simultaneous viewers, alongside the Instagram live functionality.

How will it work?

All the users who are co-watching videos or photos together will see a split screen view on their screens. They can apply filters on their faces and can see their friend’s reactions on the videos. It is an interactive element in which you will be able to see and hear your co-viewer in a limited display. In a report, it was analyzed that most of the users commonly share the photos and video with their same three or four friends as Instagram is a photo messaging application. So this feature will be a success as a group of friends can co-watch the photos and videos of their interest. It is featuring a desire for more private communication with your friends on a platform.

Will it be a success?

This feature is almost the same as the feature of Facebook called “Watch Party”, that allows users to watch videos with your friends in real time on the application. That feature was a success as according to reports friends really enjoyed watching videos together. According to Facebook, this feature had 8 times more comments than the regular videos in the group. Moreover, it has also entertained more than 12 million “Watch Parties” inside the groups. Instagram co-watch feature is quite similar to this, so it is expected that this feature will also be a success.

Instagram is currently working on it and this feature is in the testing period.
